For Namibia, the tournament will be historic because it will be the country’s first time hosting matches at the senior men’s Cricket World Cup. South Africa and Zimbabwe previously hosted the tournament as part of the 2003 edition.
A new format will make the 2027 World Cup different
The Cricket World Cup 2027 will feature 14 teams and 57 matches, with the ICC introducing a new three-stage competition before the semi-finals and final.
The tournament will begin with a Super Series, involving the three lowest-ranked teams among the 14 qualified sides. Those teams will play a round-robin competition, with the winner progressing to the next stage.
