Harry Kane 100 Bundesliga Goals: The England captain made history in sensational fashion as Bayern Munich demolished Union Berlin 7-0, while Michael Olise scored a brilliant hat-trick.

Harry Kane has done it again. The Bayern Munich striker reached another remarkable milestone on Friday night, becoming the fastest player in Bundesliga history to score 100 goals.

Kane needed just 98 Bundesliga appearances to reach the landmark, breaking a record that had stood for nearly five decades. He celebrated the achievement during Bayern Munich’s stunning 7-0 victory over Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena.

It was a night packed with big moments. Kane scored twice, Michael Olise produced a superb hat-trick, Jamal Musiala opened the scoring with a spectacular strike and summer signing Ismael Saibari also got on the scoresheet.

For Bayern, it was the kind of performance that sent a message after a slightly less convincing start to the campaign. For Kane, it was another reminder of just how extraordinary his goalscoring numbers have become since moving to Germany.

Kane breaks a 49-year-old Bundesliga record

Kane’s 100th Bundesliga goal arrived in the 39th minute.

Michael Olise was brought down inside the penalty area and Bayern were awarded a spot-kick. Kane stepped up and calmly sent the ball into the corner to make it 2-0.

That goal was far more significant than just another number on the scoresheet.

It was Kane’s 100th Bundesliga goal in his 98th appearance, making him the fastest player ever to reach a century in Germany’s top flight.

The previous record belonged to Cologne legend Dieter Müller, who needed 129 matches to score his first 100 Bundesliga goals back in 1977.

That means Kane reached the milestone 31 games quicker than the previous record holder.

It is a remarkable gap considering the quality of players who have scored regularly in the Bundesliga over the years.

Gerd Müller, one of German football’s greatest goalscorers, needed 136 appearances to reach 100. Lothar Emmerich took 140 games, while Hamburg legend Uwe Seeler required 157.

Kane has now gone past all of them in terms of the speed at which he reached the century.

And he wasn’t finished.

Kane adds another goal after the break

Just nine minutes into the second half, Kane scored again.

Olise produced a superb cross into the area and Kane rose to head the ball home, making it 4-0 and taking his Bundesliga tally to 101 goals.

The goal was another example of what has made Kane such a dangerous striker in Germany. He doesn’t need many touches inside the penalty area, and his movement and positioning continue to create problems for defenders.

According to Bundesliga’s official statistics, Kane has averaged a goal every 78.5 minutes in the competition since joining Bayern. That rate compares favourably with other elite Bundesliga scorers, including Erling Haaland, Robert Lewandowski and Gerd Müller.

Michael Olise steals the show with a hat-trick

While Kane made history, Michael Olise arguably provided the night’s biggest entertainment.

The French winger scored three times as Bayern tore Union Berlin apart.

His first goal came shortly before half-time when he curled a superb left-footed effort into the top corner.

After Kane’s second goal and Saibari’s strike, Olise returned to the scoresheet twice in quick succession.

His second of the evening arrived in the 73rd minute after he raced through and finished via the inside of the post. Three minutes later, he completed his hat-trick with another outstanding left-footed effort from outside the box.

It was Olise’s first hat-trick for Bayern Munich and capped an outstanding individual performance.

The combination of Olise and Kane was particularly important for Bayern. Olise provided the creativity while Kane once again supplied the finishing touch.

Musiala and Saibari complete Bayern’s seven-goal party

Jamal Musiala got Bayern off to the perfect start in the 18th minute.

After good work from Alphonso Davies, Musiala received the ball outside the box and unleashed a powerful effort that flew into the far corner.

It was the sort of goal that immediately put Bayern in control.

Ismael Saibari then added another in the 70th minute. The summer signing from PSV showed impressive composure as he worked his way past defenders before finding the net for his first Bayern goal.

The final scoreline read Bayern Munich 7-0 Union Berlin, with Musiala, Kane, Olise, Kane, Saibari and Olise’s two late goals completing the rout.

Bayern’s official match report described the victory as a dominant start to the Oktoberfest season, with the Allianz Arena packed with 75,000 supporters.

Kane’s numbers are getting harder to believe

The most impressive part of Kane’s Bundesliga story is not simply the 100-goal milestone. It is the consistency behind it.

Since arriving from Tottenham in 2023, Kane has continued to score at an extraordinary rate.

He has also won the Bundesliga’s top-scorer award in each of his first three seasons in Germany, something no player had previously achieved across their first three Bundesliga campaigns.

Last season was particularly remarkable, with Kane scoring 61 goals in 51 matches across all competitions for Bayern.

Now, even after reaching 100 Bundesliga goals, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

The 33-year-old also has his sights on another major target: reaching 200 goals for Bayern across all competitions. Bundesliga noted that his scoring rate means the milestone could potentially come into view during the current campaign.

What about Kane’s Bayern future?

There is also an important question surrounding Kane’s future.

His Bayern contract is due to expire at the end of the current season, although discussions over a possible new deal are continuing.

After the Union Berlin victory, Kane made it clear that he is happy in Munich.

“I’m extremely happy here,” Kane said, while confirming that talks are ongoing.

That will certainly interest Bayern supporters. A striker who has already broken the Bundesliga’s fastest-to-100 record is now entering another stage of his career with his future still to be decided.

For the moment, though, Kane’s focus remains on football.

And if his performance against Union Berlin is anything to go by, there could be plenty more records waiting for him.

Kane’s Ballon d’Or hopes get another boost

The timing of Kane’s record is also significant because the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner will be announced in London on 26 October.

Kane’s goalscoring numbers, his individual records and his performances for Bayern have put him firmly into the conversation around the prestigious award. Bundesliga also highlighted his Ballon d’Or prospects alongside his remarkable start to the season.

Of course, the final award will depend on the full voting process and the performances of all shortlisted players. But there is no doubt that Kane’s latest record gives his 2026 campaign another major talking point.

For Bayern, meanwhile, the 7-0 victory provides plenty of reasons for optimism.

Musiala is scoring spectacular goals again. Olise is producing match-winning moments. Kane continues to break records. And Bayern have shown that when everything clicks, they can be frighteningly effective.

The Bundesliga season is still young, but Kane’s latest milestone has already added another unforgettable chapter to his remarkable career in Germany.

Harry Kane has reached 100 Bundesliga goals. He did it in 98 games. The previous record stood at 129.

That tells you almost everything about the level he is operating at.
